What are Cobia?

Cobia are round fish, Global Gap certified and farmed in saltwater in the Central West Atlantic. As Cobia are reared using Aquaculture they tend to be available throughout the year. The flavour of Cobia is quite rich and sweet, and a 65% yield can be achieved from this fish. Due to its distinct flavour, it is difficult to find an alternative species.

The aroma of Cobia is mild with a leafy greeness. The taste of the dark flesh has a meat stock flavour with buttery, caramel elements to the white flesh.
