What is Native Squid?
Native Squid is active in the day/light, in the Pelagic area of the ocean. During the night/dark, Native Squid fall to the depths of the ocean and are less active. Squid have an interesting lifestyle where at the end of their lifecycle (approximately 1 year) they spawn and die, this is the reason there is a huge lack of squid between the months of March and August as this is the period when the new generation of Native Squid are growing.
Native Squid is out of season from March to August. Frozen alternatives on Squid can be used during this period.
Cuttlefish or Octopus can work as alternatives to Native Squid.
