Flat fish are members of the order Pleuronectiformes of ray-finned demersal fish, or ‘Heterosomata’. Many flat fish have both eyes on one side of their head. Some flat fish have the left side of their face pointing upwards whilst other flat fish have the right side facing upwards and others have their face either side of their head. Examples of Flat fish include: Brill, Dab, Halibut, Megrim, Plaice, Sole and Turbot.
