Welcome to the autumn 2026 newsletter, which aims to cover the September to November period for the supply of fresh and frozen fish.
If you are a fan of the “Catch Up”, and you religiously read it cover to cover, you will know that this is my favourite season as the climate of the autumn is famously ideal for native species and for aquaculture alike. However, on the subject of climate, the hot and dry conditions we have experienced in much of the UK through spring and summer may extend into the autumn. This could see a delay in return to prime quality for bivalve molluscs in particular.
