Kingfisher Brixham

Kingfisher Brixham was founded in 1984 by Nick Summersby after he had successfully started selling fish to local restaurants and hotels directly from Brixham market.

The company quickly grew and expanded and by the early 1990s. We were delivering fresh Brixham fish, as far a field as North Yorkshire. Kingfisher continued to grow until  they were acquired by Seafood Holdings Limited in 2008.

Nick is now semi-retired but still plays a role as a part-time buyer.

Marc Shipton now manages the BRC5 A-grade EEC-approved depot, assisted by Kevin Weyman (Head of Sales) and Les Daniels (Head of Buying).

25 years on, Kingfisher has become a Kitemark for quality fish throughout the country. Besides Brixham, the company buys direct from Plymouth, Looe and Newlyn markets, trading some of the finest produce the West Country has to offer.
